Rotem developed the GSM technique for the growth of sapphire single crystals near-net-shape domes as well as boules.
Rotem also developed the fabrication technologies for the processing of final-shaped sapphire domes & sapphire windows with strict tolerances, as well as the necessary characterization and quality control capabilities including:
- XYZ measurements
- X-ray alignment
- Spectrophotometery
- Optical microscopy
- Interferometry
- And other ancillary analytical techniques.
The Crystals Division at Rotem Industries offers a full range sapphire crystals production:
- Growing a complete production line including GSM furnaces for near-net-shape growth & large boules of sapphire crystals
- Processing manufacturing of sapphire dome-like products and sapphire flat windows using advanced equipment for optical fabrication (standard & CNC)
- Characterization inspection of final sapphire crystals (mainly sapphire domes & sapphire windows), as well as in-process control utilizing advanced methods and tools (interferometry, spectral and non-contact roughness measurements)
- Ability to offer advanced coating by local sub-contracting
